Funky Photo Booth is born
Since being inspired by something similar in Las Vegas, Rob builds the first Funky Photo Booth.
Our first wedding client is Jacqui, the best friend of Rob’s wife Becky.
Due to how popular the booth was at this wedding, it was time to first build a business plan and secondly build another booth.
We discover we are the first photo booth company on the south coast. That is to say, we are but one of a handful in the country.
We now have two photo booths. As a result, it’s a very busy time.
Funky Photo Booth has gone from strength to strength.
Due to this popularity, we now have four photo booths in the fleet. We employ an admin person to keep on top of everything.
All of a sudden we need to get building a fifth booth.
Five booths are now in our photo booth hire fleet. Our reputation has gained an increase in bookings with very little in the way of marketing.
We start looking at ways we can do our bit to give something back. In short, we created our annual charity budget to discount events raising money for worthy causes.
At the present time we have five photo booths. All of a sudden we need six!
After lots of hard work, six booths now make up the fleet. Our private party customers have caused our corporate client list to grow with some quite remarkable names regularly hiring us.
Our super-efficient ‘Admin Amy’ has been working super hard to turn our systems paperless. The result of her efforts has created a much more efficient sales process for us and our clients.
Flooded with Booths
Every so often businesses hit a downer on their oller-coaster. It’s been a difficult couple of years. As a result of the photo booth hire market becoming flooded with cheap photo booths being offered by DJ’s and entertainment agencies, we step back a little in the market place.
Consequently, after the market got flooded with cheap photo booths customers are looking for a higher level of service.
While refusing to drop our service or quality levels to compete on price, we take things up a notch and invest in our first inflatable photo booth. The Funky Igloo is born and is an immediate hit with our clients.
Firstly our classic booth count is now six. Secondly, they are accompanied by two Funky Igloo booths.
Meanwhile, due to upping our game over dropping our prices business has improved.
We celebrate 10-years in business!
We have entered our eleventh year of trading. This has meant it’s time for a lot of investment. In short, we’ve upgraded our software systems and invested heavily in our vehicles.
As a result of software investment, we now offer boomerang gifs in our Funky Igloo booths and guests are loving them.
Covid has kicked us and kicked hard. On the other hand, lockdown gives us chance to re-evaluate so many areas of our business.
Above all, we work with all of our customers to re-schedule bookings.
Unlike many other small businesses, we’ve been able to gain revenue from other streams to keep afloat. Therefore, we hope to be able to keep trading the other side of lockdown.
Business is Back
We’re out of lockdowns and we’re still trading! That is to say, the patience and planning seems to have paid off so far. We’ve been able to cater for every one of our 2020/21 clients that had to re-schedule. Above all we would like to thank our clients during this period that understood how their custom affects a small business such as our.
Meanwhile, Prom season was manic and enquiries are getting back to pre-covid levels. This is to say, it’s so good to be part of so many events again.
