In April we had an enquiry about a Basingstoke Wedding from Becca. Her good friend’s, Sara & Andy, live in Australia and were getting married in beautiful Bali. They were then coming over to the UK to celebrate their nuptials with their friends and family here.
Sara and Andy were having their UK celebrations at Basingstoke Hockey Club in the Maidenwell Pavilion. I’m not sure if there is an association with hockey but it’s a great venue with a lot to offer. It has recently been refurbished so that it can host more parties and events to help fund the club. There’s lots of parking, wheelchair access, on-site catering facilities, dance floor and most importantly a late bar license.
Booth Butler for the evening was keen sportsman, Lee van Diesel. His passion for hockey is well known. He once had a trial for the England Men’s hockey team but didn’t get selected due to waking up early from his daydream. None the less, he set up the booth at the far end of the function room and displayed the contents of the prop box on some nearby tables. Sara and Andy had supplied a big, black card scrapbook that was perfect for guests to put their prints in. The extra-large pages meant there was plenty of room to leave messages also.
Shortly afterwards, Andy & Sara arrived and their guests shortly followed to start the UK leg of their celebrations. The DJ revved up the wedding tunes and in no time at all the party was pumping. On the same note, the photo booth was pumping too, guests were jumping in and out, props were flying and the guest book was quickly filling up.
It goes without saying that everyone had a fantastic time at this Basingstoke wedding celebrating Sara & Andy’s new life together.
